St. Francis Garden
The St. Francis garden structure was created in 2003. The garden structure was the first of many steps to improve the landscape surrounding Emmaus building and the cabins. The St Francis Garden provides an area for quiet reflection, prayer, memories and solitude. The pathways continue to "grow" with paver bricks memorializing our generous benefactors.
The Francis statue is from Italy and the image with a dove invites one to reflect on and pray for peace in our lives and world.
Anyone who wishes can be a benefactor of Marywood and have a memorial paver brick for the future pathways. Please contact Sister Elizabeth at Marywood. Benefactors are held in prayer hourly by the Franciscan Sisters in their round-the-clock adoration in LaCrosse, WI and at each gathering for prayer at Marywood.
Francis, speak to me. Speak to me of giving, brokenness, longing.
Speak to me.
Speak to me of fire, of silence, of a richer heart.
Speak to me of emptiness, joy, need, warmth.
Speak to me of growth.
Speak to me of promise, life, and pain.
Speak to me.
Speak to me of departures, transitions, dreams.
Speak to me of valleys, mountains, stream.
Speak to me of listening, quiet, laughter, sky.
Speak to me of singing. Speak to me, Francis.
Speak to me.
