EARTH CAFE
May - Every Wednesday
7:00-9:00 PM
Facilitator: Roselyn Heil, FSPA
What seems obvious may not be until we look deep inside of ourselves. Searching and asking questions opens us to new possibilities. Sharing our experiences and knowledge can expand our awareness and support in responding to our time. Earth café is an opportunity for dialogue about the larger questions of life in an informal setting. This is an opportunity to share and ponder together toward deeper wisdom. Suggested donation $10.00.
TAKE TIME FOR ART
May 1 - Tuesday
9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Facilitator: Karen Kappell, FSPA
If you attended a previous workshop and were unable to finish your art, bring it to Marywood and receive additional assistance. Come to work and finish those pieces of art that have been tucked away for a future time. Suggested donation $15.00. Bring a lunch.
DRUMMING
May 1 - Tuesday
7:00-9:00 PM
Holy Family Church
Facilitator: Roselyn Heil, FSPA
The drumbeat itself is a reflection of your heart, so your heart is your drumbeat, and your songs are the gifts of life. Drumming is a prayer that reminds us that we are One Body with all God’s creation. Through drumming we can break through separations and build bridges toward relationships with all that God has made. Bring drums and shakers if you have them. Suggested donation $10.00.
ART CRITIQUE
May 2 - Wednesday
1:00-3:00 PM
Facilitator: Karen Kappell, FSPA
This is a gathering of artists to support each other and to share current art work that we have done in order to get objective criticism on it. Come with two or three recently completed paintings and join with us in a group critique. Suggested donation $10.00.
IS YOUR GOD TOO SMALL?
May 4 - Friday
9:30-11:30 AM
Presenter: Marla Lang, FSPA
The search for God is common to us all. To our last breath we find ourselves craving and silently praying, “Your presence, O Lord, I seek ...” Sometimes we try to cover God over or ignore God’s presence. We will focus on our images of God, maybe expanding our images of God, who is unspeakably Other. Suggested donation $10.00.
MAKING WAVES: PASTELS
May 7 - Monday
9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Instructor: Karen Kappell, FSPA
Bring your photos and experiences of being on a shore and watching the waves slam against the rocks. We will capture the atmosphere and action of this with soft pastels. The painting will be dominated by large wave shapes swept by the wind so the majority of the painting will be very active. Pastel board will be provided. Bring pastel supplies. Fee: $30.00. Bring a lunch. Register by Tuesday, May 1.
GONE FISHING ...
May 8 - Tuesday
9:30-11:30 AM
